In praise of book bloggers
I love reading but I hate to admit this, I find reviewing a book a chore.
It’s probably because when I read I lose myself in the magic of a book. I’m swept away by the story and find it difficult to take a step back afterwards.
Luckily I don’t have to because there is a special group of people out there, and I do mean special, who do it for me and other readers and writers and I salute everyone of them.
Like me they’re avid readers but unlike me, they take the time and the trouble to write reviews. Most don’t get paid a penny for their considerable efforts but still they spare precious reading time to post and share the love for books.
I’ve met so many wonderful book bloggers on Twitter and I never ceased to be amazed by their unfailing support for writers. Reviewing, retweeting, sharing and promoting, they do a fantastic job. As a writer with a fragile ego when your baby is launched out there into the big wide world, those positive reviews and endorsements make a world of difference.
To all those book bloggers, I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you.
