Living it up in Leipzig
I’m just back from my second consecutive visit to the Leipzig book fair. And guess what? The second visit was just as good at the first. I’m so grateful to my German publisher Rowahlt for inviting me and for doing such a great job with my books.
I was here to promote a Villa with a View, which given the fabulous job Rowahlt has done with the cover, was an absolute pleasure.
The book fair at the Leipzig Messe has a really special atmosphere – not least because of all the visitors who dress up for the Manga Comic Con. You can’t beat it for people watching. But above all it is such a thrill, in this digital age, so see so many people buying books!
Away from the Messe, there is plenty to see and do in the city of Leipzig. It’s easy to get around, there is a fantastic array of food and drink and you’re never too far away from another statue of a classical composer or literary figure.
We stayed at the Penta Hotel and very pleasant it was too. Looking forward to next year already.
